>The other day, I saw this film called Next starring Nicolas Cage. Other than being an edge of the seat entertainer, it drove home one point that made sense. It said, everytime you see the future, it changes, and that changes everything else. How? You ask? Well, the film was about this man who could see what happens to him two minutes before it actually happens. The rest of the film is how he tries to avoid getting hit because of it and how the FBI is after him, so he can prevent a nuclear disaster from happening by alerting them to it well in advance.
In hindsight, we are all futurologists. How? Well, we plan where to eat, what to drink, what to have for dinner, where to go this weekend, what to wear the next day, and so on… so if everything is pre-ordained, then where’s the excitement in life? So what can you do? Simple. Sometimes, it is best not to plan anything and just go with the flow…
Another thing I realised after watching the film is this. Have you felt this inner voice alerting you whenever you badmouth or do something you shouldn’t have done? Did you listen and make amends and cut the bad talk? I realised that if one were to listen to this inner voice, one can prevent all the bad things that happen to oneself. Supposing you were to scream at your relative for something trivial, and suddenly your inner voice says this is not the way to go about it, what will you do. If you don’t listen, that relative could extract his revenge or break his ties with you, or be at constant loggerheads with you, wearing you down both emotionally and mentally. However, if you had listened to your inner voice, you could prevent this future from happening.
Which brings me to another point. Everytime you do or feel like doing anything, analyse all the probabilities that will come out of it, and choose one that is mutually beneficial. And then, your future will always be happy, cheerful and rewarding. Simple recipe for success in life, but not many get this unless they realise this themselves.
