I just uncovered a scam being carried out by Gmail. I send out a mail to 500 people (my group ID) and later realised that I couldn’t send any more email. Everytime I tried to send a message, a window would pop up saying, ‘An error occurred trying to send the message’. Later, I tried to contact the Google Help Centre, and was led to the Help Forum. Over there, i typed the error message, and presto, i got the answer i was looking for. Only, the answer was given by one of the users themselves and not any Google staff member. Know what the scam is? Google apparently has a daily sending limit of 500 mails. Anyone who tries to send more than that is prohibited with this error message. Maybe it worked for them earlier. But today, when everything is being conveyed electronically, setting such limits is self-defeating. Hope Google realises this sooner rather than later.
