Airtel sure knows how to defraud its customers. When you sign up for the 2GB GPRS plan, you are sent Airtel Live settings. You promptly save it and go about surfing the Internet. And then, you end up with one problem. Nokia Messaging doesn’t work with Airtel Live. You wonder if it’s the handset problem and keep re-starting your Nokia E71 to see if this resolves. But no. Neither this nor Internet Radio. You can’t get both to work at all. One month passes and there is still no solution. Everything else works, though. Be it Opera Mobile, Snaptu, Google Maps, Gmail app, Nimbuzz, Sportstracker, ngpay app and Ovi store to name a few.
And then the bill arrives to your inbox and you are livid. There’s fee being charged for using Airtel Live. You call Customer Care and you are told that you are to use Mobile Office settings for the GPRS plan you had opted for. But then, how are we to know? We save the settings that were sent to us.
I didn’t budge from my stand: I am not going to pay for Airtel Live if the settings were wrongly sent to me not once but thrice when Customer Service should have sent the Mobile Office settings.
Airtel Customer Care obliges and takes down my complaint after the computer shows him I haven’t used Mobile Office on my cell. However, not many might call up Customer Care for redressal. Therefore, I urge Airtel to rectify this faulty Customer Care service and stop charging people for Airtel Live when GPRS settings are activated on their cells. That’s called good customer service and pre-empting livid users like myself. Will you, Airtel? Until then, be aware. Beware, dear customer!
